Here it is, the bane of my existence! lol - This drawing is better known from my friends and watchers as "Invisi-Fur" (Look closely at the detail in the white fur - Mainly so over the back and shoulder. I couldn't hardly see the brush strokes when I was drawing them)
The pup is a German Short-Haired Pointer named Jack. By far the most detailed drawing I've ever done. Always been capable of this type of work, I just knew it'd take me too much time to finish one - I was right, I'm throwing a shot in the dark that there is well over 40 hours in this (I'm slow with digital media) - 'n for a while could only do a little bit at a time because I was gettin so bored with it, 'n would start to mess things up.. or would get bad headaches from concentrating on fine details. - I was more or less a high-tech photo copier with this drawing. I at least doubled the detail of the photo I used for ref... technically challenging (ie. Fur texture, mixing so many colors in - 14 color swatches in the white fur. 28 color swatches in the brown fur) - Creatively not challenging at all o.o Original is 16"x20" @ 180DPI. - Will post WIP shots if anyone wants to see them. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. Some detailing I really enjoy, but this stuff was just tedious, when an hour would pass n I could hardly tell what I've done, it drove me up the wall, I actually did a lot of WIP captures just so I could see the progress I was making, otherwise I'd gotten discouraged far worse than I already was with this drawing...
I agree, it's a shame that art that deserves attention gets ignored while skribbles n half assed sketches get the recognition... I see it far too often where a gorgeous piece of art gets neglected... I've come to accept that my art will hardly be noticed here, I still post it for those who do notice to enjoy though...
